Pliant and finban – corporate cards, spend management and cash flow planning
Pliant is a corporate credit card with built-in spend management: virtual and physical cards, limits per person and team, receipt capture in the app, pre-accounting and export to your bookkeeping. What Pliant does not do is calculate forward. That is what finban adds: card spend, bank accounts, open invoices and planned costs become one day-by-day liquidity forecast.
Pliant is a corporate credit card and spend management platform from Berlin. The cards are issued by Pliant Oy (Helsinki), an e-money institution supervised by the Finnish financial supervisory authority. A business account is not part of the product – card spend is collected by direct debit from an existing reference account.
Why a card shifts your planning
A corporate card splits two moments that used to be one: when someone spends, and when the money leaves your account. Between them sits the settlement term. Bookkeeping does not care. Liquidity does.
How Pliant data reaches finban today
- PSD2 bank connection – the Pliant card account connects through finAPI. Add it under Bank & Integration, authenticate, and transactions flow in automatically.
- DATEV format – pre-accounted entries with ledger account, VAT rate and cost centre.
- Excel or CSV – every column Pliant exports, mapped once in finban's spreadsheet integration.
Connect the business account Pliant debits as well. Only then does the settlement appear on the day it actually hits your balance.
A direct integration with the Pliant API – receipts, cost centres, card limits – is planned.
What you get
Twelve-month liquidity forecast, the settlement on its real date, scenarios, categories and cost centres, budget versus actual, and all accounts in one view.
What finban is not
finban does not replace Pliant, and it is not bookkeeping or tax advice. It reads; it never writes back.
Frequently asked questions
Can Pliant be connected to finban?
Yes. The Pliant card account connects via PSD2 and finAPI like a bank account. A direct integration with the Pliant API is planned.
Do I need a business account at Pliant?
No – Pliant does not offer one. Card spend is debited from your existing reference account, and that account is worth connecting to finban too.
Does finban replace Pliant's spend management?
No. Cards, limits, approvals and receipts stay in Pliant. finban reads the numbers and plans forward.
